Know More About World’s cleanest River – There are more than 400 rivers in India. And each of these rivers is unique for a variety of reasons. Some rivers are special in our culture, while others are special because of their beauty. Similarly, a beautiful river, Dawki Omangot. Apart from the beauty, the river has another feature that makes it world famous. Meghalaya, however, has proven itself in a different way, while creating awareness about pollution control.

There is a special river in Meghalaya that has become world famous for its cleanliness. The name of the river is Umngot. The water of this river is so clear that it looks transparent. It is so clean that you can see a coin many feet below. It hold the title being the Cleanest river of the World. 

So the people of Meghalaya need to learn how to keep the rivers clean. The Umngot The River in Meghalaya is the cleanest river in the country. Not one of the dust is visible. It was as if the boat was floating on a piece of glass.The beautiful river is 45 km from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, near the India-Bangladesh border. The river is located in the eastern Jayanthi Hills district. Indigenous people who live here clean the river every day. And this tradition is very old for them. They believe that cleanliness is in their reform. The river flows through three villages, Dawaki, Darang and Senangdeng. The village is home to about 300 people. And they all take care of the river together.

Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to Rs 5,000. Nowhere else in India is such a strange sight to be seen. The Umangot River is not only clean, but also the nature surrounding it. Tourists who come here compare such a wonderful atmosphere in the middle of a beautiful green forest to a paradise.

The village of Mabalinang, just a short distance from the river, has been named the cleanest village in Asia. The Umngot River is also known as the Dawki River. But there is no such thing as a wonderful sight in the rivers of India. However, the people of Meghalaya have proved this wrong. It is also  the cleanest river in Asia.
