Useful tips to take care of plants during monsoon season:
Mostly we prefer to plant trees on the monsoon days. It is because, these days the friendly temperature, humidity, and availability of water help plants to grow easily. That’s why the rainy season is known as the best season for planting.
Outdoor plants get a good amount of water and temperature where as Indoor plants absorb humidity from the air, which helps them to grow smoothly.
But in this monsoon season, the heavy rainfall can damage the plants in the garden. The huge amount of water, rain, cloudy atmosphere,etc can directly affect the plants.
Tips to take care of plants during monsoon –
1. Trim frequently – Trim your plant frequently, it will help the total part of the plant to get sunshine. It also helps to grow new shoots will grow from that part.
2. Soil Test– Before and after the planting check the water absorption capacity of the soli. Check properly whether it can absorb heavy water or not. As per the soil quality do waterting.
3. Avoid Daily Watering– Usually, in the monsoon season, heavy rain increases the water level in the soil. So don’t overwater the plants, excess water can damage the plant.
4. Good Place for Planting– Always choose a good place where the plant can get good sunshine as well as no direct rain.
5. Drainage System- To drain the excess water in the field make a drainage system. If you are planting in pots then you can use various things to clean the water from the pot. Remove the excess water frequently.
6. Use natural fertilizers – Use natural fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers. It will increase the Earthworm family and soil will never lose its fertility. Organic fertilizers and manures help the plants to grow properly.
7. Remove the algae – In these days green algae can grow easily. It will stop the growth of the plants as it takes food from the plants. So Check your soil surface and remove the green algae immediately.
8. Provide support to your plants-
Many plants are very weak and can be damaged by the wind. To provide physical support to the plants which helps to protect them from storms. Soil erosion is also a major issue these days. Make sure the root section is properly inside the earth and to stop erosion try to cover the garden.
9. Make provision for light –
On monsoon days the sun may not be available that why less availability of light becomes an issue for plants. Without Light, the insects will grow rapidly and damages the plants.
So you can use artificial lights to make your garden insect-free.
10. Ensure proper ventilation- Always make sure about the ventilation. There should be a minimum gap in between the plants and follow the proper method of planting. It will allow heated air to be replaced with dry and cold air. It helps to maintain the ideal humidity level inside the garden.
