What is a Monsoon: The monsoon season is a seasonal change in the direction winds of a region. The word Monsson comes from Arabic word ‘mawsim’, that means “Sessional Wind”. It always blows from cold to warm regions.
The Monsoon season in India starts from Mid- June. The wind flows from Arabian sea to Bay of Bengal. This wind brings rain so this period is known as the beginning of new farming season. Some parts like Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal farmers depends upon Monsoon for farming.
But excess rain also cause flood like situation. Some of the Indian states face flood every year due to heavy monsoon rain fall.
