Rare White Sambar Deer Spotted at Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary

Rare White Sambar Deer Spotted at Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary – After a decade a rare white or leucistic sambar deer found in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, Karnataka.

This is very rare to see and it was capture by the camera trapes installed in the Sangama range. Dr Sanjay Gubbi installed those cameras to do research on leopard population but the camera has captured the image of leucistic sambar deer while crossing near to it.

For the first time such white Samber Deer recorded in that region. In 2014 such type of deer was recorded in Bandipur Tiger Reserve. The sambar is also listed as a vulnerable species as per the IUCN Red List.
