First Bamboo Made Metro Station of India will be made at Bamboo Bazar Metro Station in Bangalore. This metro station is all set to pioneer sustainable construction with a complete bamboo-themed decor and abundant greenery.
With a budget ranging from Rs 5 to 6 crore, this initiative showcases India’s bamboo potential in eco-friendly architecture, supported by funding from BMRCL’s CSR initiatives.
Construction will commence within three months, utilizing Bambusa tulda wood primarily sourced from Tripura, aiming to beautify the 5 km stretch along Bannerghatta Road.
This project underscores India’s commitment to harnessing its extensive bamboo resources to meet growing infrastructure demands sustainably.The proposed Bamboo Bazar Metro Station,under construction by BMRCL,will feature a complete bamboo decor, marking a first for Indian metro. Furthermore, 5 km stretch from Jayadeva Hospital to Meenakshi Temple, will be developed with Bambusa multiplex.
