Himalayan Brown Bears are eating Plastic : Himalayan Brown Bears are mostly eating Plastics in their diet. As per some report 75 % of the total diet they are taking plastic indirectly. This report is given by Wildlife SOS, they conducted a case study on Himalayan Brown Bears, and among 408 bears 86 bears have plastics in their excreted from the body.

In Srinagar, a large number of tourists came to visit. While visiting they use plastic bags like chocolate, Biriyani, and plates and left this garbage outside. Later the bears take this plastic garbage considering as a source of their food. As the garbage attracts them so they unknowingly engulfs plastics. They are critically endangered species and also belongs to schedule I of WPA 1972. Unscientific waste disposal is creating this havoc and this should be stopped as soon as possible – Experts . The bears getting lured by easy food availability and this is changing their dietary habits also. Report; It is a serious threat to the Bear specie and yes there is a chance that other species also be affected by this.

The loss of their natural habitat and lack of food they are getting attracted to such left food items and indirectly taking plastic garbage, which is a matter of concern.
