This one is the largest network of Ramsar Sites in South Asia manifests the commitment of our citizens to protect flora and fauna and live in harmony with nature.This sanctuary have both freshwater lakes, salt and freshwater marshlands. It is spread over an area of 6.05 km.

Happy to inform that two more wetlands, Khijadiya Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat and Bakhira Wildlife Sanctuary in UP have been added to this prestigious list.

By the addition of these new wetlands the total wetlands now stands at 49.It provides habitat for over 310 bird species, including 125 . It’s a great achievement of India and the team deserves a huge salute for their great deeds.
