Migratory bird in Chilika Lake
Chilika is the largest brakish water lake in Asia spreads over an area of 1100 square kilometers. It is situated in the coastal region of Odisha, India. In winter after flying for thousands of kilometer birds migrates from the SYBERIA, Caspian sea, Baikaletc to chilika lake.
Why they do Migrates ?
As we know that Syberia region has extremely cold weather conditions, which become unfavorable for some birds. So to beat the extreme winter wave they chose to migrate for a better place to live.
Birds came to Odisha just before the beginning of the winter which is in the 2nd or 3rd week of October.
The Nalabana lake, Chilika lake, etc are slowly filled with foreign aviary guests.
