Semeru volcano in Indonesia erupts twice in a month, locals alerted
Semeru volcano of Indonesia situated on Java island erupted early on Sunday and swept to a two km (1.24 miles)with a high ash column. Local authorities warn people and warn them to stay away from the eruption range. The Semeru volcano has been erupted earlier in this month and had killed more than 46 people and thousands are displaced.
In the early morning that is on Sunday eruption started with a dense cloud of white-grey ash. Indonesia’s Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation said(PVMBG).
PVMBG agency warned residents and told them not to do any activities within a five km radius of the eruption center.PVMBG informed locals not to do any activities within a range of 13 km from the eruption center.
The largest population globally that lives in close range to a volcano belongs to Indonesia, including 8.6 million within 10km.
