World Crocodile Day

World Crocodile Day

World Crocodile Day is celebrated on the 17th of every year across the globe. This day highlights the plight of endangered crocodiles and the steps we should take to protect their life.

History of World Crocodile Day: On June 17th, 2017, the world celebrated World Crocodile Day for the first time.

Significance of World Crocodile Day: As per the IUCN data crocodiles are coming under the Least Concern category and Schedule I as per WPA,1972. Due to the destruction of their habitat, they failed to survive the changes.

So their life is in danger. The killing of Crocodiles, and the illegal selling of their eggs, reduced their population. So the main aim of celebrating this day is to protect and conserve this species at any cost. World Crocodile Day
